Product Description
The new book from Canada's favorite humorist and television personality.

• "If women don't find you handsome, they should at least find you handy." • "If you're standing in a puddle, don't touch anything that hums." • "Don't trust anything that has no moving parts. Especially if it's a relative."

There's a new spokesman for middle-aged men and his name is Red Green. Red writes with a wit and insight that have made him the voice of reason and humor for every guy that loves power tools. This companion book to Red Green's soon-to-be released movie is sure to please Red's millions of fans throughout the US and Canada. Red is Canada's best known export after Molson beer, eh. Here are Red's most popular tales and impractical advice from his syndicated column, North of Forty. It's a tongue-in-cheek survival guide for every guy trying to cope with an expanding waistline, a receding hairline and a vanishing income. As an added bonus, the book is filled with stills from his upcoming movie to be released by Fox in theaters across North America in Spring 2002. Join Red, Harold Green, Edgar Montrose, Ranger Gord, Dalton Humphries and all the members of the Possum Lodge in Red Green's Duct Tape is Not Enough.

About the Author
Red Green is the founder of the Possum Lodge, Canada's most unexclusive club. He has had a comedy series on the air for over 20 years. The Red Green Show appears on 87 PBS stations in the United States and on the CBC in Canada. His syndicated column, "North of Forty," appears in newspapers across the US and Canada. He currently resides in Toronto.

5.0 out of 5 stars Fun read, explains the middle ager, April 21, 2003
There are people like me out there, people who are not old. We get a bad rap, which is fine, but then again, we're not old, so we don't really care. However, in this book everyone can get and enjoy a dose of worldly wisdom from Steve Smith, the head honcho from the Public Television show "The Red Green Show."

I admit, I almost didn't give this book five stars. At times the jokes are stale, and the various essays can sometimes be short. However, the total entertainment value is maintained. And really, aren't old people supposed to have stale jokes? ;-)

Sarcasm aside, Steve Smith has a sharp mind and makes great points about getting older. And in a way it helps show us young people that getting old is not something we can dodge, but that it can be done with optimism. Get it, read it, share it.

5.0 out of 5 stars A gem on each page!, November 10, 2002
214 pages full advice, in the form of one or two page articles. These pebbles of knowledge, these gems of wisdom, these lumps of wit will help you with all kinds of questions you might have. Questions like; When should I sut up? Do gifts have a message? What expressions give away my age? And much much more! There are also quotes of the day on every few pages. All in a lovely and colorful paperback cover. You might say, "But how can I pay for such a book? Do I sell my blood? Can I trade in my first born? Do I have to go to Canada?" HA! Don't worry, the book is well within your means, new or used! Buy it now!
