Author Lorilee Craker picks the best and most interesting Bible names and gives readers a brief history of the name, famous people with that name, and myriad other interesting details. Her book, however, goes beyond just names. Included are lists of popular names, brief essays by parents who have chosen a particular name, and interesting historical details. Craker's humor adds to the appeal of the book as well. Why should you buy it? Because you want the most meaningful and unique name for your wonderful and unique child. A is for Adam will help you find it.

You may not find the traditional, overused Biblical names here, but you will find the latest, up-and-coming ones - especially some you've never heard or thought of before. Each name is followed by meanings and insights, including stereotypes of the name. The book isn't comprehensive, but for those of us who'd rather not wallow through pages and pages and pages of names, these are the best Biblical choices out there...and everyone of them researched. Not only a good name book, but a fun read! What other name book can you say that about???

Why thumb through 1000s of pages of meaningless names in other books, when the legwork is already done for you. Ms. Craker gives a clear, concise bio for the most creative and classical Biblical names, adds appealing "extras" like sibling-name matches, fun-facts and lists, and above all, a great sense of humour, all wrapped up in a convenient yet comprehensive book. You won't be disappointed!
