On the other hand, the extent of creative fillips is only possible through the perspective of trained designers, like this author.^B Naturally, the fundamentals--mat types and how-tos, measuring, cutting, mounting, among others--are covered in some detail, complete with photographs and step-by-step illustrations. The star attraction? Twenty-two crafty projects featuring a variety of techniques, from faux gilded to Indian quill frames. Innovation, however, is somewhat marred by certain omissions; certain methods such as soldering and glazing are specified but not taught. Concluding the instructions are tips for arranging, hanging, and decorating with pictures. An idea gallery ready for implementation. Glossary appended.
