I recently received my copy. There are NO "Exclusive special offers and discounts for our readers" as promised in their advertising. This is why I ordered the book.

Otherwise it is a list of inns and B&B's that has too little information presented to make an informed choice of where one would want to stay.

Save your money if you are looking for discounts. There are a number of very good websites that provide information one may use to make a choice.

Friends and family have been telling me for years about this series of books and finally I got around to picking one up. With all the guidebooks on the market, what I hear from everyone is that this is the one they really use because it is so consistent and widespread.

I love it and used it last summer for a two-week trip throughout North Carolina. The trip was incredible and the book was our ONLY source for accommodations. My parents used the book to select 8 of 10 places to stay on a trip between Texas and Minnesota. All B&Bs were great. One of the innkeepers on my trip said that she wouldn't dream of being without "the guide" for use by her guests.

I'm planning a trip to England next year. Guess what is the first thing I am going to pack?

This may have been a good guide in its day. But like a lady over 50, it shows its age: published nine years ago, it is out of date--kind of like a french twist. And the listings are too brief--kind of like, well, you get the picture.
