About the Author

In 1988 Deb Koffman changed her life completely, giving up an urban life in which she worked in an advertising agency to move to a small town in western New England. She creates her art in a studio in Great Barrington, Massachusetts. Deb loves to work on all scales - from doodling on a small piece of paper to painting a cartoon that will cover an entire wall. This is her first book.

I came across Deb's book while waiting to get a massage in Great Barrington and as soon as I picked it up I felt like it was speaking directly to me. It is disarmingly simple with it's whimsical "cartoon" drawings, yet deeply profound -- speaking of simple basic truths about being human that all one has to do to verify is look inside one's self. Flipping through Deb's book put me back in touch with my childlike innocense. I highly recommend it!!!

Deb reminds us in a most elegant and deeply witty way that the "essence" of all good things lies in our need and abitity to hope....then...change. I bet even her ex-husband loves and admires her work.
