Many businesses start up on the Internet every day. Whether large or small each one of them is competing for revenue dollars as they offer a variety of products and services. So can you! Marian Betancourt has written The Best Internet Businesses You Can Start to provide readers with everything they need to know to get started today. This guide offers basic start-up information such as brainstorming, ideas for setting up Websites, creating successful marketing campaigns, and dealing with other important issues involved in starting an online business.

This book takes a serious look at those businesses that have flourished while others have failed. Betancourt offers real life success stories with behind-the-scene looks at people and companies who took simple ideas and became highly successful. Plenty of examples are provided through her smooth-reading narrative writing style. Read up on how a number of restaurants have joined together to pay commissions to one company that sends customers to them! A major pizza chain receives orders online and pays a company a modest commission for each pizza ordered! A major online bookseller pays commissions for every book ordered through their participating affiliate member Websites!

The book is entertaining but you might not know what business to start at the end of the book any better. It is certainly not a "how to" book, rather a collection of often interesting stories of big (Borders books) and small companies with prior existence going into the Internet market. I enjoyed reading it and at least it is not yet dated (give it a few more weeks though).

I bought this book cos I am planing to start up an internet business. The author should take out the remark at the back cover of the book that says ".....Learn from the pros how to start your own profitable Net venture, ......" This book doesn't mentioned a single word about the technology, tools or setup used by those successful site.
