This is a great introductory course, especially for those working - or about to work - in the Kingdom. There are 50 lessons, with a comprehensive review at the 10, 20, 30, 40, and 50 lesson points. Be advised, FSI language materials are in the public domain, and you can get the course online for free (if you don't mind using PDF or printing your own copy at Kinkos.

I do have basic knowledge of arabic and was able to get by in simple arabic communication. What I needed was correct grammer, vocabulary and proper Saudi dialect. I love both the book and the CDs. Those are both complementry to each other. The drills are a blast which make you think and practice on your own. I am only 25% thru the course and loving it. I am pretty certain that by the time I finish it, I would be pretty fluent in conversational arabic. I do wish that the book was in a better printed form rather than in a typed version.
