Editorial Reviews

From Library Journal
arrows theme, this anthology of novellas from three of Arabesque's current authors use settings as exotic as Paris and Morocco and as ordinary as Washington, DC, and Los Angeles to focus on characters both cosmopolitan and down-to-earth. A trendy fashion designer and an overbearing "sheik" become involved in an adventurous mystery in Layle Giusto's "Maleka and the Sheik"; love-at-first-sight strikes the protagonists in a department store in Doris Johnson's especially well-done "A Passionate Moment"; and a single mom and an inveterate ladies' man find love in Jacquelin Thomas's "Heart to Heart." As with most anthologies, the quality varies greatly, and the thematic link is sometimes a bit of a stretch; nevertheless, fans of the Arabesque line should find something here that hits their romantic bull's-eye. The authors live in St. Albans and Laurelton, NY, and Rialto, CA.

3.0 out of 5 stars Light reading for Valentine's Day, February 12, 2000
By A Customer
Anyone who is a regular reader of the romance genre knows not to expect deep plots or intense character development. This book of novellas geared towards "the day of love" will entertain you on an afternoon and make you believe again that love conquers all

3.0 out of 5 stars ADVENTUROUS,INTRIGUING,ROMANTIC, February 20, 2000
CUPID'S ARROW is a anthology from three recognized romance writers, in honor of Cupid's special day, Valentine's day, although the plots of MALEKA AND THE SHEIK, by Layle Giusto, and A PASSIONATE MOMENT by Doris Johnson were truly romantic in honor of this glorious day, the stories didn't quite make it, both stories were as I put it long winded, or beat about the bush, I thought the two heros and heroines of these stories would never get together, I've read some of Ms. Giusto's books, and all of Ms. Johnson's, and loved them. The third story HEART TO HEART by Jacquelin Thomas was a continuation of the Ransom Family, which, if you've read any of Ms. Thomas books, you will recognize the characters. Ms. Thomas does a wonderful job with the continued saga of the Ransom family. I look forward to future work from all three Authors in the future.

4.0 out of 5 stars Good Read!, October 15, 2000
By "missnikki" (Ft. Pierce, FL USA) - See all my reviews
Thomas has done it again with the Ransom/Gray saga. I really enjoyed Jillian and John's story. Talk about a man who has it bad. I can not wait until Kaitlin and Matt's story. Much love to Ms Thomas, keep up the great work!

Giusto's story was ok, but I felt it could have been so much more. If you like a lot of adventure, you will love this story!

Johnson's story in "Cupid's Arrow" was good. The novella was my idea of a love at first sight plot! I really dug it!!

1.0 out of 5 stars Long winded and uneventful...
to say the least. This book within a book type thing just doesn't interest me. The stories were too long and drawn out, a toddler could've written better stuff. Read more
