Editorial Reviews

From Publishers Weekly

A busy career as a production engineer for a Houston oil company has left Madelyn Taggart (her brother Kane was the hero of Forever Yours) with little time to socialize. Besides, the only man she's ever really wanted is the half African American, half Native American man she's seen in a photograph with her brother. But now the man in the picture, Daniel Falcon, head of the powerful Falcon Industries, is relocating to Houston. After a chance meeting and seduction, Madelyn finds herself pregnant by Daniel, who is desperate to avoid repeating the unhappy marriage his parents had. Daniel can be more than a bit self-righteous and when he finally condescends to marry Madelyn, she firmly declines?as sexy and rich as Daniel is, she'd rather face motherhood alone than in a loveless marriage. This is a well-written, tender story about a man's growing into respect and trust. It's about, as Ray writes, how "sharing the warmth and comfort of another's body [can] be as addictive as sex..
- be as addictive as sex."

Review

Madelyn Taggart saw a picture of Daniel Falcon with her brother and she knew, without even meeting him, that he was the only man for her. And when she runs into a hotel to get out of the rain, whom does she literally run into? She's soaked to the skin and Daniel takes Madelyn, and matters, into his own hands. Once she's into dry clothes again, they spend a wonderful day together. But Daniel makes it clear he is not one for long term relationships. Madelyn returns to Houston and learns from her brother Kane that Daniel is relocating his business from Denver to Houston. Naturally they run into each other at several important functions and after one such evening, Madelyn is approached by a man whom she doesn't want anything to do with. She flips him over and has her foot on his chest when Daniel comes to the belated rescue. That night he takes her home, and a kiss turns into much more. The unthinkable happens! When Madelyn tells Daniel, he doesn't believe her, but when she goes to the hospital because of food poisoning, a frightened Daniel admits and accepts his responsibility. But that isn't good enough for Madelyn. Daniel has to figure out, by himself, how to win her back. And more than that, he has to convince her of his love. A good book! Madelyn and Daniel are both wealthy, but Madelyn's parents are happily married while Daniel's parents are separated, and this is the basis for the difference between them. A new romance you won't want to miss with characters that are so real, you get involved in their lives. Ms. Ray is an exceptional author! Splendid romance by Francis Ray! Well written, well developed characters and a very satisfying ending! A stunning romance! Heart of the Falcon is superb!' Gloria Miller -- Copyright © 1998 Literary Times, Inc. 5.0 out of 5 stars "Now That's What I Call A Man!, May 4, 2000
By "missnikki" (Ft. Pierce, FL USA) - See all my reviews
Ms Ray has really out did herself with this book! Daniel Falcon is what most women dream for in a man, well he's what I dream for in a man! Tall, strong, very educated, well mannered, respectful, sexy, and has the most gorgeous hair that should ever be on a man! I absolutely loved this story. The story line was the bomb! Madelyn was my girl, she knew just how to bring a very stubborn, bullheaded Daniel to his knees. All I can say about this brother is if he can fall in love, any man can! But of course, that man has to find that very special Lady! Much Love Ms Ray!

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent Romance Novel, March 21, 2000
By A Customer
"Heart of the Falcon" was the first book by Francis Ray that I had read. It was recommended to me by a co-worker. I found the story very interesting and exciting! It was refreshing to read about someone with Daniel Falcon's mixed Native American and African American heritage since there are so many of us out there with the same type of ancestry in our own families. I especially liked the side love story of Daniel's estranged parents finding their way back to each other.

5.0 out of 5 stars IF YOU CAN'T STAND THE HEAT - GET OUT THE KITCHEN!!, April 19, 1999

(REAL NAME)
AND I DO MEAN JUST THAT!! GIRLFRIEND RAY IS COOKIN AND THE STEAM PERMEATES ALL AREAS OF YOUR MIND, BODY AND SOUL. I THOUGHT THE STORY OF KANE AND VICTORIA WAS SMOKIN, BUT DANIEL AND MADELYN (AKA "ADDIE") HAD EVEN MY EARS RINGING. MS. RAY HAD MY HEART PUMPING FROM BEGINNING TO END. HER DROP DEAD LOVE SCENES ARE INCREDIBLE. I THINK IT IS "AWESOME," AS MY KIDS WOULD SAY, THAT SOMEONE CAN CREATE SUCH MAGIC WITH A PEN. THE LOVE WHICH DANIEL FINALLY WAS ABLE TO RENDER UNTO MADELYN WAS SUPERB. THE WAY HE GAVE HER HIS HEART HAD ME THINKING OF THIS BOOK WHILE IN CHURCH PRAISING THE LORD. A MAN CAN SHOW NO GREATER LOVE THAN TO PUT HIS COMPLETE WEALTH INTO THE HANDS OF A WOMAN. NOW YOU KNOW GIRLFRIEND CAN WRITE. I'VE GOTTEN FIVE OTHER PEOPLE INTERESTED IN HER AND THEY'RE BUYING BOOKS LIKE CRAZY. NOT BECAUSE I DON'T WANT TO SHARE MINE, BUT ALL OF US WANT HER BOOKS IN OUR PERSONAL LIBRARIES.

I'VE ALREADY ORDERED DOMINIQUE'S STORY AND SHOULD RECEIVE IT TODAY!! CAN'T WAIT.

THANKS MS RAY FOR YOUR SPECIAL GIFT YOU'RE SHARING WITH US. GOD BLESS YOU!!
