From Booklist
Marine biologist Matthias Rowley wants a divorce. After all, months ago, he caught his wife in what he believes to be an unforgivable lie. He fills his days and nights with what has become his life's mission--saving the reef on his beloved native Tobago, a charming, picturesque Caribbean island. Sarita Rowley still loves her estranged husband. A marine biologist herself, she applies for a job on his team under a fake name. Matthias can't believe that "Gwen Davis" is actually the woman he wants to divorce, and he orders her to go back to the States immediately. However, following a freak accident, Sarita saves his life, and Matthias allows her to stay on the project, admitting to himself that her expertise really is needed. The fragility of life is expertly described in this beautifully written story where an endangered reef becomes a metaphor for an endangered marriage.
