Product Description

Real-Life Reader Biographies present the lives of contemporary role models for young readers. These are the stories of real men and women who, despite many obstacles, followed their dreams.

Jennifer Lopez has always wanted to be a star... not just a dancer, not just a singer, not just an actress, but all of them. Her hard work and ambition have been boundless as she rose from her childhood in the Bronx to her status as the highest paid Latina actress in Hollywood. In just four years, from the time she won her first major role in Mi Familia in 1995 to when she recorded her hugely successful first album, On the 6, Jennifer has taken full advantage of every opportunity that has come her way.

Latinos had captured a lot of attention toward the end of the twentieth century, but one of the most prominent Latinos of the nineties was Jennifer Lopez. At the start of the new millenium, she continues to grow as one of America's biggest stars.

2.0 out of 5 stars Too much glitz, not enough information, March 16, 2003

(REAL NAME)
I would recommend skipping out on this book. If you're really looking for information about JLo's life, this isn't the place to find it. It's more concerned with fashion and the mythos of the "Jenny from the Block" fan. Whether you love or hate JLo, this book will likely shed no new light on her life.

By Matt Marvis (Grapevine, TX) - See all my reviews
This very attractive and colorful book that gives you all the most up-to-date information on JLO. She looks great in the numerous beautiful full color photo's. The book does not give the dirt but the truth about Jennifer's career, loves, and life. It really is a must for every young fans library.
