Not too many children know by the age of six just what they want to do with their lives. Amanda Leigh (Mandy) Moore knew exactly what she wanted to do after she saw a performance of "Oklahoma." But when she went home to tell her parents, they weren't convinced. They thought that six years old was too young to make such big decisions. Nevertheless, they did agree to get her voice lessons and they sent her to a summer musical theatre camp. Mandy did all the rest on her own. From appearances in local theatre productions to singing the National Anthem at professional sports events, Mandy made a name for herself around Orlando, Florida. At the age of 14, she got her first record deal. At 16, she will appear in her first movie. This determined young lady is sure to be around for quite some time to come.

Born in Boston, Massachussetts, John Bankston began publishing articles in newspapers and magazines while still a teenager. Since then, he has written over two hundred articles, contributed chapters to books such as Crimes of Passion, and Death Row 2000, which have been sold in bookstores across the world. He currently lives in Los Angeles, California, pursuing a career in the entertainment industry. He has worked as a writer for the movie Dot-Com, which began filming in winter 2000, and is finishing his first young adult novel.
