Humor is one of the ways we cope with the unpleasant things in life and one of the most unpleasant is when we are in direct contact with medical professionals. Therefore, a good joke about the situation goes a long way towards alleviating the stress that we find ourselves in.
The title of this book is apt, as the jokes are generally very good, and to most of us, it helps that the doctors are the butt of most of the jokes. The doctor/patient relationship is one of great power disparity and anything that helps the patient side feel more respected and comfortable aids in the treatment. It is a light, fun and helpful read.
