5.0 out of 5 stars Great veg guide to DC and area, January 7, 2008
By B. DeJong (Los Angeles, CA) - See all my reviews
(REAL NAME)
This guide contains detailed descriptions of each restaurant, broken down by region to help you find something when you are out and about. It also has helpful information like contact information, map, ratings, price range, and more. It is also a nice size, that will fit easily in a purse or larger jacket pocket.

For anyone one veg or health conscious visiting or living in DC (or the general Virginia/Maryland area) this is a great book.

2.0 out of 5 stars Reviews Aren't Quite Right, December 28, 2007
I got this book as a gift from a previous job I worked at and when I first moved from the southside to the northside, I really wanted to find places that I could eat, but this book wasn't really helpful to me for anything more than phone numbers and addresses. My two favorite restaurants, Soul Vegetarian East and Alice & Friends, got two star ratings. Alice & Friends food is absolutely excellent, and I go there every chance I get, and the vegan chocolate mousse pie is fantastic, and I'm not a dessert person at all. This book says the dessert is not desirable, and that blew my mind. And as for Soul Vegetarian East being so unique that it's hard to find seating, I've been there at least six times, and the only time I had trouble finding seating was on a late evening. During the day and early afternoons, I usually come in to maybe three or four tables of one or two people. I'm using this book more like a directory than for recommendations.

3.0 out of 5 stars Please Make a Second Edition, August 19, 2007
By Truddie Reif (Chicago, IL) - See all my reviews
(REAL NAME)
This edition has incorrect information which is due to the fact it was published in 2005; is there a 2007/2nd edition yet?

A few of the restaurants I checked out were no longer in business; which is a shame because they sounded good. I am just looking for a place that sells Veggie Dogs!
