Product Description

Dog lovers can pamper their best friends with 25 easy-sew projects for adorable dogwear and custom gear.

In the last few years, our devotion to dogs has created a Great Dane-sized boom in products like gourmet treats and designer duds. Nothing says love like making something just for your dog. Sew Dog makes it easy and fun to sew over two dozen projects like a Dry-As-a-Bone Rain Slicker or a Cuddly Corner Pillow. The projects are practical as a car-seat protector, as in-style as a fashion tote for carrying a small dog, and as wonderfully silly as a tux. A dog-product expert designed each to be supremely comfortable for the dog and practical for the dog owner. The step-by-step, illustrated instructions require only basic sewing skills and very little time. Each of these colorful projects is a perfect present for a dog, and Sew Dog is a perfect present for a dog's person.

  • The 25 projects include coats, costumes, beds, travel gear, furniture protectors, safety vest, and treat bag.
  • Dog lovers will immediately grasp the advantages of custom-made clothing and gear. The dog's coat will actually fit, the booties will stay on, the costume will be comfortable, and the bed will match the family room.
  • The easy, step-by-step instructions are illustrated with cute photographs, colorful line drawings, and patterns.
  • People are crazy about their dogs. Time magazine has declared "It's a Dog's Life." There are greeting cards "from the pet." New magazines like Animal Fair and Bark are big successes. Butterick and Quick Sew sell patterns for coats and booties. Twenty-four percent of dogs have wardrobes. When 37 percent of dog owners talk to their pets on the phone, the concept of sewing for your dog is less silly than some might think!

3.0 out of 5 stars Good Book, Patterns Not., March 15, 2006
By A. Huerta (California) - See all my reviews

Over all this is a good book if you want easy to sew dogwear. The only objection I have is that the patterns aren't your typical sewing patterns. They're just diagrams and you have to bring them to scale your self. Some of the projects are good though, so it wasn't a total waste. Very easy to understand.

4.0 out of 5 stars Cute Dog Wear Book!, August 12, 2005
I just bought this book a few days ago, and I really like it.
It has some really cute clothes to make, but my favorite patterns
are for three of the dog toys that look really easy to make.
They are ADORABLE! A chocolate chip cookie, a iced donut
with sprinkles and a gingerbread boy...all with sqeakers!
My lil' guys are gonna love 'em!

The book is well worth the money!

2.0 out of 5 stars Too Much Money, May 18, 2008
I payed around $48.00 for this and it wasn't worth it! I could get ALL the patterns at the fabric store. Waist of money!
