Product Description
Nuclear War is obsolete in the 21st Century. With the scientific mapping of the human genome the same medicine that targets specific cancer-causing genes can be turned into precision-guided, chemical/biological weapons of genocidal destruction.

Terrorist attacks in the Holy Land finally lead to a vigilante attempt at genocide. The Arab World unites in vengeance, and the largest coordinated air and naval attacks in the history of the world are launched. The confined space of the Eastern Mediterranean Sea is filled with hundreds of ships, planes, and submarines. Only the U.S.S. George Washington Carrier Battlegroup stands in the way!

About the Author
Scott Malensek is originally from the suburbs of Cleveland, Ohio. SIXTH FLEET UNDER is yet another companion novel in his XMAS War series. His first book, Black Rain For Christmas is a techno-thriller depicting a conventional WWIII between the U.S., North Korea, and China. The Secret War In South Asia shows how terrorism and kidnapping could bring India and Pakistan to the brink of nuclear war. Some of Scott's other books include, The Weekend Warriors and 50+ Ways to Play with Your Paintballs. In addition to his literary and military interests, he is also a paintball player and an avid aviculturalist.

5.0 out of 5 stars PROOF that wars are too dangerous to fight anymore!, December 28, 2002
By "peacenik2" (NEW YORK CITY) - See all my reviews
I bought this book after reading Malensek's first book, Black Rain For Christmas-an unusual book that I REALLY liked. This book has some of the same newspaper stories, but it was told mostly in the narrative instead of diaries like Black Rain. Still, I liked it a lot-kinda! The naval battles were very technical, and while some military wackos might like that, all I took home was the idea that aircraft carriers are NOT as invincible as I had thought. I was REALLY struck hard by the genetic medicine turned into precision-guided chemical weapons. That's very scary! In the end, I enjoyed this book-like his last-because it was so realistic, accurate, and a-political (for the most part!). Anyone who reads this will understand why nuclear weapons are NOT the most evil form of death that mankind has created. I think the thing that freaked me out the most was that the book was written before all this trouble with Iraq and North Korea over chemical and nuclear weapons. Malensek seems to have a knack when it comes to foreshadowing non-fiction in his works of fiction. Check this book out. It's a quick and relatively easy read that will leave you numb in the end. It's also very VERY thought-provoking.
