The more settled farming community of rural Vermont is the scene of Nancy Means Wright's THE GREAT CIRCUS TRAIN ROBBERY. Zoe is still trying to get into her older brother's Northern Spy Club, but her assignment of observing the man next door is more boring than mysterious. Then her best friend, Spencer, reports that one of the cars of his prized antique circus train has been stolen, and Zoe is on the case at once. More complications ensue as Zoe and Spencer get involved in the backstage antics of the clowns in the traveling circus playing in their town. A mischievous monkey who is attracted to red items leads the pair to more clues, and the children win their way into the club by solving an old mystery, uniting two battling brothers, and improving the clowns' act. A Jolly addition to the mystery shelf. --Mystery Scene Magazine 11-'08.(Roberta Rogow, reviewer)

Wright's newest novel for children is a delightful romp through a world of stolen model trains, terrified circus clowns, quirky neighbors, annoying older brothers and staunch friends. I couldn't put it down. And the scenes of sneaking into the nasty neighbor's house are positively harrowing!
