Review

This volume is successful in bringing together a comprehensive picture of how GIS are being used for health applications. -- Annals of the Geographic Information Systems and Health Applications, March 2004, Volume 94, Number 1

Product Description

The use of Geographic Information Systems (GIS) in the health sector is an idea whose time has come. The current applications of GIS in health are diverse and extensive. The present GIS environment is heavily driven by technology and such an approach is indeed logical for the most part. 4.0 out of 5 stars Comprehensive and interesting, November 30, 2002
By "mick11" (Chicago, Illinois, USA) - See all my reviews
I thought the book was a nice compilation of work from around the world. It is not exhaustive like a textbook but the fact that each chapter is a seprate entity makes it interesting reading. Chapters cover some major themes of interest in GIS. I liked it and will probably use individual chapters as course material. It should be good for practitioners too. The format would be good for a continuing series along the lines of this book.
