4.0 out of 5 stars Not your typical joke book, January 29, 2007
By Nick Manning (Australia) - See all my reviews
The great thing about this book is that its jokes are modern, not your usual 1000 joke compendium fillers. There are no "why did the chicken cross the road" or "what's black, white and red all over" groaners, instead most are quotes from top, recent comedians (Jerry Seinfeld, David Letterman, Jeff Foxworthy etc).

Reading the official blurb on the book, I expected this book to not only have jokes, but also teach me how to tell them better. This area did dissapoint a little. The book does have random comments and tips from experts on how to tell better jokes, but most of the 'teachings' are just common sense - eg. don't tell a joke if you don't remember the punch line, & don't laugh at your own jokes harder than other people do.

Buy the book if you want a laugh or something witty to throw into everyday conversation. Don't buy it to learn the art of the standup commedian.

All in all, a great joke book for it's price.

5.0 out of 5 stars beyond a great jokebook, September 18, 2006
This book is fun for people who like a good laugh, as well as those interested in the inner workings of what's funny. This book doubles as a bathroom reader and a hilarious guide book.
