Rasey's most blood-chilling, hair-raising, and heart-pounding tale to date.

Deputy Detective KC Tanner guards his private life much the same as his Doberman, Zappa, guards his home. He's content to live a life of solitude, hiding behind the wall he's carefully constructed around himself. Trouble is Sharalee MacArthur, stuck in a fantasy world of her own making, still envisions KC as the man she will one day marry. That is until reality shatters his isolation and dashes her hopes, and a madman running lose in their homey little community has KC and Shar running for their lives...

1.0 out of 5 stars The Story Might Be Good..., March 12, 2006
By feysidhe "feysidhe" (Mount Kisco, NY USA) - See all my reviews

I don't know. I couldn't get past the ghastly writing. A couple of examples from the first few pages which is all I could manage to read:

"A chill settled. KC knew it was not about to abate, not until they found the cold-hearted bastard capable of crucifying a man. A shiver shook his spine. He could not begin to imagine what poor George Stanton--bloated and vaguely recognizable due to the decomposition that had begun to set in--had gone through before he finally died."

"KC had left his spot beside them long ago, pacing. Possibly his way of dealing with the situation. Shar already knew KC handled emotions differently than others. He tended to bottle them inside, share himself with no one. She had seen it in the way he had handled his mother and father's death some six years back when they both died instantly, their lives taken by a drunk driver. The culprit served a year for his misdeed. Hardly enough time, but the state had disagreed and set him free.

KC hadn't talked freely about them or the accident then, nor did he now. The subject of his parents was one he never broached, like an uspoken song--a tune he carried around in his head. Shar knew it was there, but he never sang it out loud."

5.0 out of 5 stars FACADE rocks!!, February 27, 2002
By A Customer
This review is from: Facade (Paperback)
FACADE is another shining example of Patricia Rasey's talent to blend dark, chilling suspense with smoldering, sexy romance. Add to that a "whodunnit" that had me suspecting everyone but the real killer, and you have a real winner of a read! As if the tightly-plotted and expertly-executed mystery weren't enough, Ms. Rasey throws in a forbidden love romance between a tough crime scene investigator (KC) and the sherrif's sultry, all-grown-up daughter (Sharalee) that practically burns up the page.

As I said on my review of THE HOUR BEFORE DAWN, I'll say it again here. When is some smart publisher going to snatch up this author and print her in mass market paperback?! She'll give all the big names a run for their money. Write on, Ms. Rasey -- you ROCK!!

5.0 out of 5 stars The Sheriffs daughter is back in town, August 11, 2001
This review is from: Facade (Paperback)
The Sheriffs daughter is back in town. And boy has she grown up! The first one to notice the change is his Deputy Sheriff, KC Tanner.

Tanner had watched her grow up most of his life but he's not ready when she returns home from college. She has transformed into a beautiful and sexy woman. And it's all he can do to make sure he stays away from his best friends little girl.

But Sharalee's the new Victims Advocate. And now he finds himself teamed up with her when a serial killer starts stalking his small town.

While KC tracks down his leads, Sharalee has to follow him into the tattered lives of the families that have been left behind. She has to help them cope with their loss while he finds the killer who took their loved ones away.

Sharalee's serious about her work but she can't forget the love she's carried for KC since she was a little girl. Nor can she ignore the fact that KC continues to treat her like a child. A situation she's trying her best to change.

What follows is a tense and sexually fueled joy ride that takes them both from one crime scene to another. Each one more horrific than the next. While they try to figure out just who and why a serial killer is killing off some of the town folks.

When the killer strikes too close to home, they both realize they need each other more than ever to get through this nightmare alive.

And along the way terrible secrets are revealing themselves that could rip their lives together apart.

Patricia Rasey has penned an outstanding book!

Fascade is a spine tingling read from start to finish with equal parts murder and romance.

Ms. Rasey leads you to believe you know who the killer is, and then yanks your chain, and swings you in a whole other direction!

You'll find yourself wondering who will be the next victim and in what atrocious way are they going to be murdered. The biggest mystery will be

why?!

You not only get a murder mystery in Fascade, but you also get a lot of great sexual tension between KC and Sharalee, that builds to it's climactic explosion right along with the murder and mayhem.

I highly recommend Fascade to anyone who loves a good murder mystery. This is one book that will keep you guessing.

If you are clever enough to figure out who did it, you still won't believe what you get hit in the face with at the end!
