In a period of forty years Barry Diller rose to the top of the entertainment industry and Jerome Tuccille tells us just how he did it. We learn that he did it "his way" and that is what makes him so impressive. He began as a mail clerk at the William Morris Agency and his rise began from almost the moment that he began that job. He formed Fox TV in 1987 and brought in some of the most innovative programming ever seen on the small screen. He was chairman of Paramount Pictures where his films became classics. He was friends with a virtual "Who's Who" of entertainment and he is highly respected.
This is not your typical Hollywood biography. Tuccille writes with great insight and humor and we meet a Barry Diller who is indeed larger than life.
