Kirsten is a Vancouver, B.C., jewelry designer and devoted spelunker. But neither vocation nor avocation has provided a respite from her worry over the disappearance of her globetrotting sister, Emma, the black sheep of the family. The possibility of coincidence is too remote when Kirsten, on a caving expedition, finds a piece of jewelry she made for Emma. Someone among her circle of caving friends may be responsible for Emma's probable death. Aalborg, a veteran Australian author, hits the creepy jackpot with his villain, a transcontinental Hannibal Lector wannabe with an appetite for the well-muscled thighs of comely female cyclists. Masterfully, within the context of the horror, Aalborg also creates a mystery with at least three possible culprits among Kirsten's circle of friends. Genuinely creepy and a damn good read.
