Review
Michael L. Thal of Scribes World gave FLIGHTS OF MIND 5 Stars
"One of the BEST anthologies I have read! This anthology novel has twenty-nine fantasy tales from nineteen of today's fabulous science-fiction and fantasy authors. I have never read an anthology in which I loved every single separate story. This book has more of the high rating numbers than I normally see. That speaks for itself! All said, I found this collective title to be outstanding! I am proud to be able to recommend it to everyone who enjoys sci-fi and fantasy tales that go beyond the normal. Fans of the old show The Twilight Zone should especially take note of this release." -Detra Fitch of Huntress Reviews.
3 Stars! The 29 stories featured in Beyond the Mundane: Flights of Mind offer something for just about every lover of short science fiction and fantasy, with romance, suspense and good plain fun. In "Her," by Nick Aires, readers discover that an unrequited love is the catalyst that dooms Earth after aliens come to observe. The complex relationship between a man and the vampire who is feeding on him is explored in "December Morning" by Eolake Stobblehouse. A young boy's guilt and the mysterious ramblings of an elderly woman join together in the short thriller "The Lightning Bug" by Frances Evlin. And mice are unlikely protagonists in "Thunderstruck" by C.J. Winters, a charming romance that is told from a unique perspective. Astronauts encounter an unexpected creature in "Unmarked Planet" by Aires, while a spaceman plays an important role in the last tale, a very short story from Stobblehouse that ends with an interesting twist. With stories that range from a few paragraphs to many pages, this anthology offers both easy reading and thought-provoking ideas. -RT BookClub
