Out of the blue, August's estranged father sends August the legendary 12th-century Gospels of Henry the Lion, instantly placing the bookseller and those near and dear to him in the sights of a shadowy and vicious group known as the Black Vehm. Expository passages about lost treasure, secrets buried in the Antarctic ice and the Nazis' search for the Holy Lance alternate with scenes of shoot-outs, stabbings and bludgeonings. Readers may struggle to empathize with the cartoonish characters, like August's terrified young son, who, with agents of the Black Vehm in hot pursuit, worries he'll die before learning what his grandfather meant by the expression spring chicken. This is a great read. I found Illuminated after doing a search online and picked it up after reading some other reviews that were positive. I was not disappointed at all. I couldn't wait for this one to arrive and I was not disappointed at all. The August Adams series is a great story line and sure to captivate everyone. I highly reccomend this book for anyone looking for a great thriller.

I was really impressed with the first book in this series, Illuminated, and wondered how the author would do with a sequel.....and I wasn't disapointed. This book kept me turning the pages as fast as the first. I received it in the mail today, and have already finished reading it. This series, and this book, are definitely worth reading, and I look forward to more in this series.

HOUSE OF WOLVES is another intense adventure with August Adams. I love how each page begged me to keep reading further. Bronleewe delivers again with warring secret societies, age old mysteries, an insanely valuable book, and enough action and plot twists to make you read the entire book in one setting. Most mysterious perhaps is one of the locations- Antartica. All the history and mystery to be uncovered makes HOUSE OF WOLVES one "Chilling" Thrill Ride!
