From Booklist
Air travel is stressful enough, what with lost luggage, the interminable lines through security, and the high probability of a mindlessly verbose seatmate; but it could be worse, much worse. Wayfarer flight 880 suffers a midair collision with another plane, ripping half the 737's roof off and depressurizing it, but still leaving it airborne. Seated in the back, Donovan Nash, a pilot on his way to Chicago, valiantly struggles to make his way to the devastated cockpit, where he finds the crew dead or unconscious and the instruments inoperative. On the ground, the blizzard of the century has O'Hare Airport completely shut down, which forces Nash's fiance, Defense Intelligence Agency researcher Dr. Laura McKenna, to employ unorthodox resources in a daring rescue attempt. The suspense never lets up in this high-flying disaster thriller--readers will be biting their nails in anticipation of each new catastrophe to befall the beleaguered characters. Highly recommended for all popular fiction collections--sure to make a great vacation read, but beware reading it on the plane while en route.
