Editorial Reviews

Product Description

"The Sting Of The Gadfly" is a collection of poems, thoughts, songs, and short stories, the majority of which are about God's interaction with Mankind, the necessity of faith, and the wellspring of hope that occurs with a personal relationship with God through Jesus Christ. The publishing of the book was a gift from his wife, Linda, for their 25th wedding anniversary. The book assembles a number of unique poetic writing styles and the author's personal perspectives as a father, a husband, a police officer, a Christian, and a child of God. There are few satirical bumps in the road to make the drive more enjoyable as well. It is hoped each reader will appreciate the great lengths God has gone to gain his or her attention in eternity.

About the Author

Greg Doyle is a gadfly of sorts when it comes to his passions in life. His humor, quick wit, and love of God help offset some of the more serious experiences in his life as a peace officer, divorced (and remarried) parent, father of three, and an American. He loves to write about faith, particularly from a Scriptural-based, God-point of view. Courage and integrity are virtues he holds in great esteem. "The Gadfly" is a pseudonym Greg has used in posting poetry and short stories on the Internet for the last few years. He also writes praise songs with his good friend, Don Maresh, for their group the "Good News Praise Band" at Discovery Christian Church in Moreno Valley, California. They have two professionally recorded CDs of original songs and hope to release another CD in the Spring of 2006. It is hope, through writing poetry, songs, and short stories, that people will draw closer to God.
