Product Description

Salvia Divinorum is a powerful shamanic plant medicine traditionally used by Mexican Curranderos (folk healers) for healing, divination and exploration of consciousness. In this book we take an in depth, insightful, and provocative look at this ancient plant and its newly discovered properties. For millennia, the secrets of this rare plant have been closely guarded by Mazatec shamans high in the mountains of Mexico. Rumored to have magical healing properties, this plant and its extracts have recently been introduced to the western market place.

About the Author

Inventor of numerous groundbreaking herbal formulas, Shaahin Cheyene is a fifth generation herbalist from Iran. Cheyene consults for pharmaceutical companies as well as natural products companies on the use of indigenous and shamanic plants in modern day products. Cheyene was introduced to Salvia Divinorum by the late Terrence McKenna.

1.0 out of 5 stars less than satisfying, July 23, 2008
By DAVID ARNSON (Los Angeles) - See all my reviews

This author has basically taken information available anywhere on the web and from other books and released it as his own. This is the same guy who sells the lame 'Herbal Ecstasy' product, sheesh!
Stick with the Martin Ball book if you want to read something other than a compilation of other peoples research.

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent book - welcomed addition to my library, January 9, 2007
I have been studying Salvia divinorum for about five years now and still find this book an excellent addition to my library on the subject. This from a Salvia divinorum researcher who has produced several extraction methods for this plant which many vendors are still using to produce entheogenic products, such as Keith Cleversley of Chicago's iamshaman web site.

4.0 out of 5 stars Good Book!, May 25, 2009
By J. Glatzer "Pimp" (Placentia, CA, USA) - See all my reviews
(REAL NAME)
I think David Arnson sounds sort of bitter he didn't come up with the idea for herbal ecstasy. Just because this author has compiled information available elsewhere as well as contributing new information, doesn't mean the quality of the book is any less. As an editor and writer myself, I can tell you it's not easy to pull pieces of information from various places and compile it in an interesting and compelling way, but that is exactly what Cheyene does here. Great book, I learned a lot.
