I have been in the staffing business since 1989. I have heard mention of the author, Bill Vick, on a number of occasions and therefore felt comfortable paying the high price for this publication thinking that it must be filled with one novel recruiting technique after another. But as I read through it I kept waiting for it to stop reading like a "sales brochure" on LinkedIn. With each page I turned (electronically speaking since I received the ebook version)I awaited the end of the introduction phase of the book and expected to be knee deep in new techniques for finding candidates. It never happened. I am at page 75 and it still reads like a brochure. I would have been disappointed if I had spent $10 on this book, but I spent $50, adding insult to injury.

This book was a complete waste of time. I only paid $22 for it used but it doesn't make the mistake any better. I am insulted and disappointed that a disclaimer wasn't put on this book to let people know it is an ENDORSEMENT for Linked In and NOT an actual useful tool for Recruiters. I love Linked In, hate the book. Real Recruiters will find it a waste. New Recruiters might get suckered into buying this thing at full price. I'll be donating this to the local library book sale.

I thought this book was a waste of $40 dollars! It is touted as having secrets from 50 recruiters but all it is is a makreting tool encouraging people to purchase premium accounts. It has a bunch of quotes from recruiters who can barely put a sentence together telling of their networking experiences but I would hardly characterize as secrets or tricks or even helpful hints. The linkedin site is easy to use and does not require an instruction manual.
