5.0 out of 5 stars This small book discusses 24 mothers in the Bible. These women gave birth to Biblical characters the reader will recognize., May 12, 2009
Her children stand and bless her. Her husband praises her. "There are many virtuous and capable women in the world, but you surpass them all." Proverbs 31:28-29

Hannah trusted God to give her a child. She gave that child back to the Lord. Samuel was a trusted leader to the Hebrews.
Herodias was an evil woman. She asked her daughter to dance seductively before a group of men so that she, Herodias, could have revenge on John the Baptist.

Lois and Eunice were the types of mothers we should try to imitate. They raised a Godly son/grandson, Timothy.

This small book discusses 24 mothers in the Bible. These women gave birth to Biblical characters the reader will recognize. Each of these women was an influence on their children, some good and some not good. Do not expect perfection in these women, for each of them are human just as we are. We can learn much from these women.

Mothers of The Bible is well written. It is informative. I read this on Mother's Day, a very appropriate time to look back at my role in my children's lives. Like the mothers of the Bible, I am not perfect. I have made mistakes; there are things I wish I could do over, things I would do differently now. I enjoyed reading and studying Mothers of The Bible. Dena Dyer is a talented author with the ability to bring her characters lives in to focus. Her style is simple and easy to understand. This tiny book would make a great small group study or individual devotional. There are meditational questions at the end of each devotion.
