5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent and inspiring, October 29, 2006
This review is from: Hope (Mass Market Paperback)
I finished this book in two days and was ready for more.

I've read most of the current (and not so current) libertarian literature and this is among the best.

I like this book better than "The Mitzvah", but "The Mitzvah" is certainly worth reading. It is much better than its reviews would indicate and it introduces you to some of the characters in "Hope".

I'm very ready for the next book from these authors.

5.0 out of 5 stars Very Entertaining, May 6, 2007
This review is from: Hope (Mass Market Paperback)
An entertaining vision of what would happen if a candidate from outside of the conventional two party political mainstream became president.

A billionaire entrepreneur with a libertarian style philosophical streak on govermnent runs as a third party candidate, and through a series of chance occurences is elected president.

It is a viewpoint broadening vision of what could be -- somewhat along the lines of L. Neil Smith's "Probability Broach."

5.0 out of 5 stars A great vision of REAL Hope and not Obama "hope", March 20, 2009

A must read. This is a president we can all be proud of. One that understands that the Constitution means what it says and obeys it. This is what we need in a president. One who is not afraid to do the right thing and have some actual integrity.

1.0 out of 5 stars A libertarian fantasy
This work is a tragedy, especially as the concept of a fictional hyper-libertarian president would be a good one-if it was applied realistically. Read more

3.0 out of 5 stars Interesting but flawed
If you suspend disbelief and see this book as fantasy it is veye enjoyble read. I agree with some of the ideas in the book the others are just to much out there. Read more

5.0 out of 5 stars Hope trumps Change!
El Neil and Aaron have written an extremely thought provoking story of how WE The People can take our country back from the vacant idiocy of statist robbery! Read it.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great Book!
I thoroughly enjoyed this book. It was a fun and easy read but had a powerful message. I plan on buying several more of these books and giving them as gifts.

5.0 out of 5 stars its Heinlein on Hillary!
If you don't enjoy it; give it to your "Pizza Driver". He will see the insights that you missed.

This is Smith's best work, since "The Probality Broach" {1980}.

1.0 out of 5 stars Is it conceiveable that aliens have stolen his soul?
When I read Smith's Tom Paine Maru, it changed my life. In fact, most of his early works are interesting and strange. This on the other hand is didactic and slow. Read more
