Epic Conclusion To An Outstanding Fantasy Series

This is it, the epic conclusion to The Knight of Eldaran series and I do mean epic. It has all come down to this. Who will be head over The River Realm? With this series we were given a whole world filled with evil rulers, righteous King and an empire in need of rescue. Eamon is now second-in-command and he feels the brunt of betrayal and evil plots. Plus the Master is still playing with his mind. There is treachery and deceit and plot twists that you will not see coming. Intrigue, passion, divided loyalties and some great battle scenes are just some of what awaits you within these pages. Ms. Thayer has given us a unique action adventure that will keep you on the edge of your chair as you read and flip pages as fast as possible. I am sorry to see this series end. I recommend this book highly and look forward to more from the very talented Anna Thayer.

The Broken Blade by Anna Thayer is Book 3 and final book of The Knight of Eldaran Series

The epic final battle between the Master and KingEamon Goodman is now the Master’s Right Hand. But despite being the second-in-command to the ruler of the River Realm, Eamon becomes the victim of vengeful plots engineered by the other Quarter Hands. Eamon finds himself powerless to stop them and the people he cares for are under threat. Eamon then discovers that the Nightholt―the book he long ago delivered to the Master’s Hands―holds the key to the Master’s power, which will become absolute upon the death of the King. Thus the stage for the final battle is set. Eamon rides out at the head of the Master’s army and must finally decide where his true allegiance lies. His choice will determine the fate of the River Realm.

This final book is the culmination of who Eamon is and how his past and present plays out in the final battle between good and evil within the River Realm and the Town of Dunthruik. I was absolutely hooked and could not wait to see where the story would unfold and who would be the ultimate conqueror, The King, or The Master. I cannot get into specifics as it would ruin the ending, but suffice to say that the book and series were well worth the wait. Eamon and his close people who he has put in certain places around him have been beaten, killed, tortured and he has had to deal with the pain and suffering of not being able to confide in anyone around him about his true service. Please read and see for yourself how the book progresses and comes to the final battle.

I would rate this book a 5 out of 5 for its character development and story line that turns and twist with danger lurking at every turn.Read more ›

The conclusion of what would appear to be an interesting fantasy series.

Eamon Goodman has worked his way up to become second in command to the Master, ruler of the River Realm. Now serving as the right hand, Eamon has the authority to control all of the left hands and quarter Lords within the realm. Even so, Eamon becomes the target of the other hands as they stage his friends deaths to torment him. Furthermore, Eamon is determined to hide his past from the Master, but the Master’s twisted mind games force Eamon to continually reveal who he really is. When he discovers the book Nightholt and delivers it to the master, he realizes where the master’s true power comes from and that it will become final with the death of the true King, often referred to as the serpent. Eamon must decide where his true colors lie and pick a side. No man can serve two masters.

I will admit that I did not read the first two books prior to reading this one. The consequence of that is that I missed the overall creation of this world that happened in the earlier books and therefore had a difficult time seeing the world for what it truly is. Additionally, I felt as though there was a large portion of the backstory history that I wasn’t privy to throughout this book. So, it you want to know the whole story, I would recommend that you read the whole story.

As far as the book itself, it was very well written and had a good flow when I could take hold of it. There are several battle scenes within this book that kept me drawn in throughout the tale. There is also a lot of emotion displayed throughout the book by several characters, but specifically Eamon Goodman. It has definitely made me interested in reading the first two books and then reading this book again to gain a different perspective. This is a lot of dialogue in this book.Read more ›
