Editorial Reviews

Product Description

A beautiful island lying in the northern part of the Irish Sea, the Isle of Man was once a popular holiday destination. However, it also has its darker side. Manx Murders is a mysterious collection of murder cases committed on the island over the last 150 years, from the brutal murder of a spinster one dark night on a lonely track near Ramsey to the fatal stabbing of one Finnish prisoner by another. Using information obtained from newspapers, inquest records, and trial transcripts whenever these were available, each murder is described against the backdrop of events on the island at the time and has been carefully reconstructed.

5.0 out of 5 stars Manx Murders, January 5, 2004
By A Customer
Being an avid reader of true crime and a born a bred manxman I decided to buy this book and found it fascinating. The book itself is well written and has a high level of detail and research information. There are many different cases to read and the style of writing enables you to pick it up as and when enabling you to be immediately immersed again. Some crime writers over complicate the structure which makes you have to back-track but not this one.

For a small Island synonymous with safety and a secure lifestyle this certainly opens the eyes.

A must buy and a great piece of work!
