Editorial Reviews

Product Description

The Boeing 707 was the first aircraft to convince the world's airlines that jet propulsion was the way ahead.

5.0 out of 5 stars An excellent look at the venerable Boeing 707, July 21, 2003
By Gordon K. Werner (Seattle, WA USA) - See all my reviews
(REAL NAME)
The Airlife's Classic Airliner series of books cover individual commercial aircraft types in an interesting, in-depth manner.

Each volume of this British series covers a unique commercial aircraft type from its design, production, entry into service, its usage by airlines, and in some cases eventual demise.

Each volume features plenty of color and black and white photographs of the subject aircraft along with a complete construction list (accurate to date of publication for aircraft types still being built).

Volume 3 covers the genesis of modern commercial aviation ... the venerable Boeing 707 ... from its genesis as a military experiment to one of the most prolifically produced machines ever built ... one that easily shrunk the world and heralded the arrival of international tourism, commerce and travel.
