Product Description
Persian Steel focuses on the collection of Persian steel objects assembled by the well-known Iranian sculptor Parviz Tanavoli and illustrates why metalwork has made such a dynamic contribution to the arts and crafts of Iran and the Islamic world. The arms and armor, domestic artefacts, scientific instruments and metal calligraphy displayed in this book, from pre-Islamic times to the nineteenth century, make Persian Steel an important contribution for students and enthusiasts of Islamic Art, Iranian history and Middle Eastern culture.
