Product Description

This definitive guide to summer jobs overseas contains details of over 30,000 seasonal vacancies for the summer of 2005 in more than 50 countries in Eastern and Western Europe, Africa, Asia, Australasia, and Central America. The book covers an enormous range of paid jobs that give readers the opportunity to earn money while seeing the world. In addition, it offers a wide variety of voluntary positions that enable participants to use their time and energy to help others while gaining for themselves the experience of living and working in another country.

Summer Jobs Abroad explains everything needed to land the summer job of a lifetime including where the work is; when and to whom to apply plus details of the wages offered; the period of work; and what previous experience or qualifications (if any) are needed. Country-by-country chapters include essential information on work permits and visas with an introductory overview of the range of jobs to be found there.

The book contains jobs to suit all types of people including vacancies for crew and cooks on barges on French waterways; entertainers for a theatre bar on the Costa Brava; volunteers for conservation work in game reserves in southern Africa; caterers for a Hollywood theme park in Germany; English teachers for Prague or Peking; leaders to escort choirs on tours around Europe; disc jockeys for cruise ships in the Mediterranean; farm hands for the Australian Outback; strawberry pickers for France and Denmark; guides to lead nature walks at a jungle lodge in Peru; and ground crew for hot air balloons in Switzerland.

3.0 out of 5 stars Decent information, January 8, 2007
The information contained in here is not bad, although I wouldn't go so far as to call it good. It reads like the yellow pages with a very bland tone, and it does not include personal experience. If you are looking for a just a directory, then this might be for you.
