If you fish the Carolinas' Coast, Newman's book is a must. Either get started or improve your fishing using this excellent work from an authoritative author. I was tired of checking this book out of the library every time that I headed for the Carolina coast, so I bought it from Amazon. I pick up this book when I am planning a trip to the coast and pack it along with my fishing gear. I reread key points that I have highlighted, and look for pointers and secrets for my next fishing quest. It is an authoritative, full reference and `how-to" for the Carolinas that goes in depth on the mainstays - spotted trout, blues, red drum, flounder, mackerel, sheepshead, and more! It covers location, techniques, equipment, lures, rigs, bait, timing, courtesy, safety, and issues. It is a comprehensive and concise guide that does not overwhelm you with myriad details and choices. You can get started with confidence that your are getting a pro's advice on the right approach. This book can get you off to a fast start, especially if you lack experience with a popular species. By using Newman's book as my guide, I started catching spotted trout and flounder. Now, I go back to it to keep improving on what I have learned and look forward to new adventures (and fish) courtesy of Newman. For the cost of two or three lures, this book will improve your fishing on the Carolinas' Coast.
