5.0 out of 5 stars Terrifying, August 22, 1999
By A Customer
Read this book, or just about any other book dealing with the Waco murders, then ask yourself this question. Do you really think it is smart or safe to disarm the American people and give the government a monopoly on force? The 2nd amendment was created specifically to protect us from this kind of tyrany, and it has worked for over 200 years. Read this book, then tell me disarming the law abiding public is "an idea whose time has come." --words from the same Senator Biden who arrogantly abdicated his responsiblity during the Waco investigation.

5.0 out of 5 stars Get this book and read it carefully. Underline it profusely., December 20, 1997
By mrozek@yerkes.uchicago.edu (German Valley, Illinois USA) - See all my reviews
Carol Moore did her homework and wrote a surprisingly balanced account of the Waco tragedy that makes you wish you had $ 1.00 for every lie the BATF and FBI told the public about the incident. Combine this book with those by Stuart Wright and Dick Reavis, and buy a copy of the Video; Waco: Rules of Engagement. You will be wondering exactly when the Articles in the Bill of Rights became conditional and applicable only when law enforcement decides they like you. If you think the Constitution preserves and protects your liberties - think again. If the eighty or so minority folk incinerated during "Operation Showtime" can be so easily dispatched without due process or without honest journalistic enquiry in the aftermath, so can you or your children if they have the misfortune of becoming temporarily curious about a particular minority religion or lifestyle. It is your duty to soberly consider the facts presented in these books and then join the debate that will either stimulate increased respect for the Bill of Rights, OR permit our national descent into the Barbarism that made Germany and Russia infamous earlier this century. Here is your chance to appreciate how far the TV News and giant newspaper chains have strayed from journalistic integrity.

5.0 out of 5 stars Truth is more shocking than fiction, June 10, 1997
By A Customer
The government and the media portrayed a shocking picture of crazed cultists ambushing government agents, taunting them for weeks and then killing themselves and their children in a fiery inferno. Ms. Moore must use a thousand footnotes to prove her case that the BATF raid was unnecessary, that BATF probably shot first, that they fired from helicopters and killed four Davidians, that the FBI harassed the Davidians to stay inside Mt. Carmel, that the FBI sabotaged Davidians' attempts to negotiate on April 19, that the Davidians were scared to come out otherwise, and that FBI tanks started the fire accidently and the trapped Davidians could not escape. It was a massacre!!!
