Editorial Reviews

Product Description

In Touring Tennessee, Ridley Wills II recaptures the romance of travel by presenting the best from his collection of more than thirteen thousand Tennessee postcards. With more than six hundred images from the Volunteer State’s colorful past, Touring Tennessee captures the cultural spirit of a golden era of American correspondence and engages readers with amusing commentary, history, and insight concerning the rhythm of life in early twentieth-century Tennessee.

About the Author

Ridley Wills II is a native Tennessean and the 1991 winner of the Tennessee History Book Award. A graduate of Vanderbilt University, Wills has been an adjunct professor of history at Belmont University in Nashville, Tennessee, where he has taught courses about Nashville's past for more than a decade.

Wills has written Old Enough to Die (1996), a gripping nonfiction account of a southern family during the Civil War as told through narrative and their private correspondence. Wills is also the author of Tennessee Governors at Home, The History of Belle Meade Country Club, A Walking Tour of Mt. Olivet Cemetary (1993), The History of Belle Meade (1991), and Belle Meade Bloodlines (1990).
