5.0 out of 5 stars Easy, Easy, Easy, September 28, 1997
MkLinux for PowerMac is already easy as dirt to install, and this book just makes it easier. If you are thinking of installing from a CD anyway, you might as well get this book and use the crystal clear installation instructions. It doesn't attempt to be an introduction to Unix, but it does contain instructions on how to recompile the kernel for the hackers, er, _experimenters_ among us. This book takes you from a blank hard disk to PPP connecting and X-Windows startup quickly. It also includes some basic descriptions of Linux, Mach, the PowerMac hardware, etc., and pointers to other references (both on the Internet and in print). I recommend this book to anyone who is planning to start using MkLinux.

2.0 out of 5 stars The book should be called "Installation only", April 26, 2000

Very detailed instructions of installing the MKLinux and nothing else! I would hope there at least is a quick reference for basic setup and configure of the system. No help at all after the system is up running.

5.0 out of 5 stars A happy cutomer, February 18, 2000
This is something every dedicated Mac user should not be without. While Linux is perhaps not the simplest of OS's, this is by far the simplest form of Linux I've ever seen or worked on. If for no other reason the two included CD's are worth the price alone. Although a more indepth basic linux book would be usefull too unless you are well versed in it. Overall I'm well pleased.
