Product Description

Kosovo Crisis is about going to war based on propaganda, disinformation and faulty decision-making with an extra dose of duplicity unseen in the American government. In the process, we compromised our high standards of "Equal Justice Under the Law," as inscribed over the doorway of the United States Supreme Court. The U.S. subverted international laws and ignored the Helsinki Accords, the U.N. Charter and mocked the NATO treaty. This poor judgement and the practice of double standards and lies as it relates to human rights, will haunt our foreign policy in the 21st century. This book, published in 1999, continues to expose the underhanded ways Albright and Holbrooke demonized to the Serbs for a political agenda. This book is also having an impact on current events in Afghanistan and Iraq. Congressman Randy Cunningham (R-San Diego) says it best about Kosovo Crisis, "The massive evidence is corroborated—sustaining the asserting that the American public was d!

uped into confusing, noble humanitarian motives with a transparent fraud—resulting in devastating ecological and humanitarian consequences. This war will cost the U.S. $50 billion. But that is nothing compared to another Clinton stain on the moral fabric of our country and NATO."

About the Author

Dr. Vojin Joksimovich was born, raised and educated in Belgrade. As a child, he was an eyewitness to German and Anglo-American bombing of the city of his birth in WWII. He is the sole survivor of Nazi bombing which instantly killed seven members of his family. He is the grandnephew of Dr. Dragic Joksinovich who courageously defended General Draza Mihailovich in Tito's infamous 1946 show trial.

Upon obtaining his degree from the Electrical Engineering Faculty of Belgrade University, and for political reasons, he was denied employment at the Institute of Nuclear Science in his own country. As a refugee from Tito's regime, Dr. Joksimovich emigrated to England where he was employed in the nuclear industry while working toward his Ph.D. in Nuclear Engineering from the Imperial College, London University. He moved to the U.S. in 1970 continuing his career in the U.S. nuclear power plant industry. He is internationally recognized as a leader in nuclear safety, risk assessment, risk management and nuclear regulations and he has authored 125 articles and various papers presented at numerous international conferences on nuclear energy. This book exposes the ecological damage done to Serbia and the consequences of violating international treaties by bombing the infrastructure of Yugoslavia, including power plants and water treatment facilities, in clear violation of every major treaty the U.S. has singed in this century.

5.0 out of 5 stars US Intervention Exacerbates Kosovo Crisis, March 26, 2000
By A Customer
Describing the US and its NATO allies as the Balkan Rogue Superpower, the anthor analyzes the US-led foreign policy which led to the demise of Yugoslavia and further instability throughout the region. Once the US intervened, the conflict in Kosovo escalated rapidly from what was initially the Milosevic regime fighting the KLA insurrection. By early 1999, diplomacy became threats and ultimatums to Belgrade, stipulating conditions which no self-respecting government could accept. The pretext for bombing had been achieved. In the final chapters the author points out the devastating humanitarian, ecological, political and legal consequences of the bombing campaign as well as some lessons learned and prospects for the future. This is an outstanding book on the Kosovo conflict. It is especially valuable for students, political scientists and historians, and a "must read" for anyone making policy with regard to the Balkans.

5.0 out of 5 stars Impressively researched; essential reading, December 7, 2006
Dr. Joksimovich has crafted a brilliantly researched analysis of NATO's war that provides an essential basis for understanding that often misunderstood conflict. In particular, the chapters on the period preceding the war are especially valuable. I've not seen a better account of the conflict between the secessionist KLA and state security forces preceding NATO intervention. The author's chapters on diplomatic developments during the same period are similarly valuable. Clearly a prodigious amount of reasearch went into these chapters, and as a result, the reader gains a deeper understanding of the events that led to NATO's war. The excellent chapter on the war itself reminds the reader that the current sorrows afflicting Iraq are by no means unique. The cataloguing of what can only be termed the deliberate targeting of civilian targets makes for moving and thought-provoking reading. The book closes with the author's heartfelt analysis of NATO intervention in the broader context of violated Amercian ideals and questionable political motives. This book is highly recommended!
