Editorial Reviews
From Library Journal
Felt is made through a process of exposing moist wool to extremes of temperature and agitation that would shrink your favorite wool sweater to doll size. An ancient craft dating back perhaps to as early as 6000 B.C.E., felting has been rediscovered by today's fiber artists and also by hand knitters who knit oversized socks and hats and felt them to fit. First published in Swedish and translated by American felt artist Spark, this book combines an examination of the historical and cultural roots of felting with practical information on feltmaking and a showcase of imaginative items made from felt. Excellent color illustrations and a resource guide complete this generally recommended volume.
