Each profile traces the lotterys calendar 1999 versus 1998 sales by game (instant, 3-digit, 4-digit, lotto, cash lotto, keno, VLTs, niche games), its calendar 1999, 1998 and 1997 instant sales by price point ($1, $2, $3, $5, $10) and its projected fiscal 2000 versus fiscal 1999 ad budgets by media and by game. Each profile tracks the lotterys five-year annual sales by game from fiscal 1995 through fiscal 1999. Each profile features the number and the percentage of total, instant and online retailers by type of business, plus each retailers fiscal 1999 total, instant and online sales. Section III is divided into seven chapters: worldwide lottery sales; fiscal 1999 sales, profit and expense analysis; the retailer network; ad expenditures; historical analysis; contractor survey; and calendar 1999 U.S. lotteries weekly sales by game. The contractor guide features a monetary guide to U.S. lotteries instant ticket and online system contracts. The appendix includes a glossary of terms, lottery address directory and supplier directory.
About the Author
Bruce La Fleur is executive vice president of TLF Publications, Inc. and co-publisher of La Fleurs Lottery World. He joined TLF Publications in 1992 to assist his wife in running the business. Since then, the company has dramatically increased its list of publications, created the symposium and started e-commerce. Previously, he spent 10 years with The Washington Post in the production department and two years as a real estate asset manager for Baltimore Gas & Electric. He graduated magna cum laude from the University of Maryland with a B.S. in business administration.
Terri La Fleur is president of TLF Publications, Inc. and co-publisher of La Fleurs Lottery World. La Fleur started TLF in 1991 with the publication of her first book, Compendium of Lottery Statistics. Over the last decade years, TLF has published over 32 books. In 1993, La Fleur and her husband Bruce launched La Fleurs Lottery World, followed by the La Fleurs Lottery World Symposium in 1996. From 1983-1993, she was lottery editor of International Gaming & Wagering Business. She served as editor of Public Gaming Magazine from 1980-1982. She earned a B.S. degree in journalism and a B.A. degree in English at the University of Maryland.
