Delaware is the language of the Leni Lenape people. They lived along what came to be known as the Delaware River in the present states of New Jersey, Delaware, and Pennsylvania. This language program has a complete pronunciation guide and a 200 word glossary and provides the most complete Leni Lenape language tape and workbook program available. About the Author
The program is primarily the result of a one year language preservation project undertaken by the Delaware Tribe of Western Oklahoma and funded by the Administration for Native Americans. A special recognition is made to the many tribal elders who provided a body of data and a legacy on which to build this project. The program was designed by Dallas Ann Dennis,Glady Yackeyonny and Margaret Farrow. Other contributors: James Rementer, language scholar; Dr. Ives Goddard of the Smithsonian; Dr. Bruce Pearson of the University of South Carolina, Luch Blalock, Leonard Thompson, and Irene Tiger.
