In 1995 as a determined 48 year old single mom of two school aged childre, solo thru-hiked the Appalachian Trail from Georgia to Maine. Through 14 states covering 2158 miles, Beverly took seven months and crossed the crests and the ridges of the Appalachian Mountain chain often musing and contemplating how to share her adventure with others.

About the Author
Beverly has motivated and inspired men and women, children and teenagers, on and off the Trail. One of the selected hikers on the two-part PBS outdoor series, "Trailside-Make Your Own Adventure", she was also featured in "An Appalachian Adventure", a book compilation of newspaper articles written about the 1995 thru-hiking community by five newspapers.
