Product Description
The City of Santa Barbara is one of the best representatives of the cities of the southwest founded by the Spanish or their descendants. Its Mission Church is not only typical of that style of architecture, but is the best preserved of any in California. Also, as recorded by writers who visited this city in the 1830s, the society there was at that time more aristocratic and refined than any other part of the coast. The city still feels the influence of that early Spanish atmosphere which greatly adds to its interest. Accordingly, the study of the early history of this city and of its founders is particularly attractive.
