3.0 out of 5 stars Not necessarily for the executive..., August 23, 2005
I bought this book as I was preparing for a job search. The book does a good job of defining the differences between retained and contingency recruiters. They recommend that executives earning over $100K focus on retained recruiters.

The issue I have with the book is that they tell you to not bother contacting retained recruiters - they will find you. The book would have been more valuable had they given you some techniques for reaching this 'high-end' recruiter.

5.0 out of 5 stars Very useful for managers and exeuctives, January 31, 2006
This book is a must if you are looking for a job in the executive category, earning $100,000 or more. It's also useful for people below that salary level, especially if their careers are in business and their resumes show strong, recent experience in the kind of work they're looking for.

In addition to this book, Kennedy offers directories and databases of recruiters, online and in print, searchable by specialty. The directories also cover employment agencies handling jobs in the $50,00 to $100,000 category.

For someone with a reasonably strong, "career-track" resume, using recruiters is important, and Kennedy is a well established authority on who they are, where they are, and how to work with them

1.0 out of 5 stars Go online for headhunter info. Its free and more up to date., December 30, 2001

This review is from: Kennedy's Pocket Guide to Working With Executive Recruiters (Paperback)
This was totally useless information. I do not recommend that anyone buy this book. Go online and get free headhunter information, and save yourself the agony of reading this outdated job search info. What a waste.

One of the few resources, along with Vaultreports.com, that I have seen which provides great preparation for the recuruitment and hiring process.
