5.0 out of 5 stars Great video to see the Traditional Simplified short forms., August 28, 2003
By A Customer
I learned a great deal from the companion book for this video, but it is necessary to see the video to truly capture the forms. Included are both the Simplified 24 postures form and the 48 postures form. Although these are shorter and easier to learn than traditional 'real' long form Taijiquan, they are derived from Yang style Taiji and have intact fighting applications. The applications for the 24 postures form are included in this video. Its much better to learn this form than some more modern 'Tai Chi for Health' form which has lost the essence of the postures.

Master Liang and his students are very smooth and repeat the sequences from several angles, so that it is simple to learn the form. The health benefits are profound, and I usually do this form for about 10 minutes a day.

From this video, an interested tai chi player can move on to a more traditional long form with a very solid foundation. Thanks to Dr. Yang for producing this video!
