Product Description

This simple drawing system was created especially for people who think they don't have any talent. Designed as a self-study workbook, it eases the novice painlessly through a grid system involving four straightforward steps: shape, line, value, and texture. Very specific instructions eliminate guesswork, and information on how to draw from photographs is also included.

5.0 out of 5 stars Wonderful How- To process, September 18, 1999
By A Customer
I bought this book and have spent hours with it. In literally 2 hours I went from near stick figure drawing to duplicating complex and beautifully executed likenesses of Sandra's original drawings. It's like the "drawing fairy" has come to live within me. I love the process that Sandra teaches and I love what I'm able to do with it.

5.0 out of 5 stars What it says!!!, October 17, 2001
By A Customer
What better review can one give than to say this book delivers what it says. The methods are straight forward and simple and they do help those who can't draw a straight line. Most art books are written for a visual-learning person and a person who learned to draw as a kid--this book isn't! Although I often overanalyze things this books actually got me drawing in a painless way. I may not become a professional artist but I now have an enjoyable new skill.

5.0 out of 5 stars Step by step instuctions!, July 25, 2002
By Okie in Alaska (Alaska USA) - See all my reviews
I bought this book and have now completed many of the first drawing exercises. The book starts at the basics with what supplies you need and then shows you how to use them. This book was just what I needed!

She shows you how to use grids, how to shade, how to do line drawings, how to add texture and more. But you start out with baby steps so you aren't overwhelmed and work your way up to the harder stuff. THere are many exercises and techniques to practice, she supplies the paper in the book and a sample to look at too.

The only thing about the book is she does really kind of push buying her supplies from her website, which is fine I guess. Especially if you don't know anything about which brands are quality and which are cheap, which I didn't.

I did actually just purchase some of her companion videos but haven't received them yet and I can't wait to get them.
