Dave's Other Rant.
What if magic was real, and scientists had figured out how to harness it instead of the atom in the 1930s? Naturally, during The War that means they'd try to make a magical weapon. Or unnaturally. Whichever. And both sides were neck and neck in this race to harness magic. Thanks to simultaneous strikes and a young meteorologist's little white lie, the End of the War happened, and the war magicks didn't dissipate but remained to continue working on people...especially those foolish enough to speak of it.
