Editorial Reviews

Product Description
At the last minute, Spencer heads away from home and to the mountains of Wyoming to spend Christmas break at his grandmother's antique mansion. Deeply insightful about love, loss, courage and passion for life, Spencer's experiences-from dangerous mountain rescue attempts to revealing talks in the woods-will give you a fresh perspective on your own life purpose.

From the Publisher
This inspirational story jumps immediately to the heart of action, insight, romance, beauty, and adventure and doesn't let you rest until the words "The End."

With Shaun's engaging writing style, including powerful description, engaging dialogue, intriguing plot lines, and realistic characters that jump off the page and into your heart, it's no wonder we receive so much feedback with comments like these:

>I was up till 4 a.m. because I couldn't put it down. >The story is great! I couldn't stop reading it. >It is way past my bed time but I couldn't stop reading the book until I was finished. I loved it! It is like the perfect story. >My only question is WHEN'S THE SEQUEL?!!!!

Answer: Book Two should be available by Thanksgiving 1999.

4.0 out of 5 stars An excellent story filled with love, life and philosophy., March 19, 1999
This book was wonderful and refreshing to read. Unlike the majority of Mormon Fiction, this story is believable. The charaters are well developed and realistic. The story is written so that it entertains and teaches at the same time. I love the philosophical questions that the main charater Specher has. They are questions that any young person asks and attempts to find answers to. This book is perfect for those lazy Thursdays when you are in a thinking mood and need something to indentify with.

5.0 out of 5 stars Motivationally philisophical, February 4, 1999
By A Customer
From the start it gave me a new way to think about life. About what is important, and where I stand in my attempt to follow my dreams. It also gave motivation to work a little harder at making the time for the activities that I love. Living and going to school in the area where the story starts, it was so easy to imagine myself as the character in the story, to feel like I was the one having the adventure. I could not put it down and when I got to the end, I wanted to start over so that I would not have to quit reading/living the adventure. I can't wait to read the next one.

5.0 out of 5 stars Move Over Weyland and Jorgesons, January 25, 1999
By A Customer
I enjoyed this work as much or more as anything that I have read by other famous authors. Seldom do I pickup a book that I don't put back down until I have completed it(6 hours later). This story reminds me of many experiences and inner feelings that I have had personally in my life as I went through that same age period and some feelings that we can all do well to be reminded of or learn over. Good Luck on all of your future projests.
